This is a brilliant way to promote the University of Nottingham and education as a whole. Make funny, exciting and accessible videos and people will flock to them. even better if they are fronted by a sterotypical mad scientist.
Trained as a sound engineer, I stumbled in to text journalism, but knew it wasn't really me. Then I found video.
I started producing videos for motorcyclenews.com and gradually expanded to make the site one of the leading motorcycle video producers in the world with a top 50 Youtube UK channel fed by content produced by print journalists and photographers, all trained by myself.
I now work for which.co.uk where I have set up full in-house online video production capabilities from scratch and now produce around 200 videos a year.
